The football club Borac was founded on July 4, 1926. Originally it was named Radnički Sportski Klub Borac, meaning Workers' Sports Club Fighter. It was founded by a group of football aficionados including Veselin Masleša, Rudolf-Rudi Hiter, Savo Novaković, Mustafa Softić, Nikola Kuković and others.
