The Borama script is a native script for writing the Somali language. It was devised in about 1933 by Sheikh Abdurahman Sheikh Nuur of the Gadabuursi clan. Unlike Osmanya, the script was not widely known. It was only used by the Sheikh's small circle of associates in Borama.
