This squad doesn´t have a great history like the Pumas Dorados de la UNAM, Burros Blancos del IPN or Borregos Salvajes ITESM-Mty, plenty of achievements and old glory, in fact it is one of the youngest of the ONEFA. With the expansion of the private education system of the ITESM, founded some alternative campus outside its home city of Monterrey, one of those campus were the Campus Estado de México. Then the origins of the team are the late 70´s when the Campus Estado de México was founded and built in Atizapán de Zaragoza in the State of Mexico. At the beginning the team developed only minor categories (Juvenil) and didn´t appear in the most important competition (Liga Mayor), during the period from the creation until 1985 the team suffered and had lows and highs.
At the end of the 80´s the team entered the Liga Mayor at the Conferencia Nacional, where got the championship and get the right to access the Conferencia Metropolitana.
The team achieved two championships in 2000 and 2003 defeating the Borregos Salvajes-Mty.
In 1970, the Coach Gustavo Zavaleta re-baptized the team with the nickname "BorregosSalvajes" (Wild Rams) in order to identify it with this species, which is characterized by its constant fight to survive in highly risky situations, always dominating from the heights the atmosphere that surrounds it and showing its superiority before the others.
The BorregosSalvajes obtained the triumph against the Aguilas Blancas with a score of 20-13, closing with this one the celebrations of the Fifty Anniversary of the ITESM.
In 1999, the BorregosSalvajes obtained a second championship when defeating again the Aztecs of the UDLA by score of 38-25, this time the game was celebrated in the field nick named the Temple of the Pain in Cholula, Puebla.
