The company started franchising in 1968. Two of the original franchises belonged to Gus' two brothers who helped found the first restaurant in Edmonton. Gus' two younger brothers started franchises in Saskatchewan: Nino in Saskatoon and Trifon in Regina. When the franchise name was sold it was rumoured that a condition of sale was that Boston Pizza could not establish restaurants in Saskatoon or Regina. for a period of ten years giving the Agioritis brothers time to establish their business under new names. Nino's Pizza and Trifon's Pizza still exist in these cities. Six years after opening, Gus had 17 locations (two corporate and 15 franchised) in operation across Western Canada. Year 1968 (MCMLXVIII) was a leap year starting on Monday (link will display full calendar) of the 1968 Gregorian calendar. ...

Menu Boston Pizza's menu consists of various gourmet Pizzas and Pastas. It also includes Salads, Ribs, Sandwiches and various appitizers to start your meal. A recent menu change in June, 2007 brought new menu items including Poutine, 7 cheese Ravoli, Bruschetta as well as additional pizzas and pastas. The recent menu change also revamped the Kids Menu franchise wide, making ordering from the kids menu as easy as ordering a happy meal at McDonalds. You get a main course with a side, a drink and a treat to finish off your night. Just like McDonalds, you can get your chicken finger happy meal with fries, milk and Boston Land Cookies at the end Boston Pizza also uses the alternative when it comes to seniors, discounting selected items, singling them out on a special seniors menu, rather then discounting a percentage of their bill.
