The Botswana general election of 2004 was contested by the Botswana Democratic Party and eight opposition parties.
The election was won, as predicted, by the BDP who obtained 44 seats in the new parliament.
Nevertheless, given the combined support for the opposition in the elections, any sort of opposition pact, merger, or alliance, would not have upset the BDP election victory.
