- Jimi Hendrix, while playing at a block party in Harlem was bottled and egged, for playing "white music" and for having white musicians in his band.
- In 1982 Weird Al Yankovic and his band were the opening act for Missing Persons. The unimpressed audience threw items at the group, and they were booed off the stage.[1]
- Meat Loaf and Bonnie Tyler were bottled at the 1988 Reading Festival, starting the festival's trend.
- Daphne and Celeste were heavily bottled at the 2000 Reading Festival, but completed their 15 minute set.[1]
- Guns N' Roses were bottled at the beginning of their show at Download 06. This resulted in the band almost walking off-stage. Bassist, Tommy Stinson spoke to the crowd saying, 'A piss bottle to the fucking head?'.
- Marilyn Manson was bottled during the Guns, God and Government Tour. This resulted in the bottler getting called up on stage by Manson where he was bottled by the fans in the crowd.
- Limp Bizkit were bottled while opening for Metallica on the Summer Sanitarium Tour 2003.
- Good Charlotte were bottled at the 2003 Reading Festival.
- Justin Timberlake was bottled at the Toronto Rocks concert while playing on the same bill as AC/DC and The Rolling Stones.
- The Strokes were bottled by Metallica fans during their 2004 Big Day Out set in Sydney. This resulted in Strokes lead singer Julian Casablancas jumping off his stage and singing the last song of the set right up in front of the waiting Metallica crowd.
