Bow Down is an album by Westside Connection. The group formed because they felt that the East Coast artists lacked respect for the West Coast, which had fallen that year with the death of 2Pac and the collapse of Death Row Records. At first, the album received a fair amount of attention, but eventually became seen by some as a Hip-Hop classic with hits like Bow Down and Gangsters make the world go round. It peaked at #2 on the Billboard 200 on November 9, 1996 and eventually went platinum. Bowing was the nearly universal sign of respect and submission in the presence of a king or other powerful leader.
