A native of Virginia, Boyd got his start by moving to New York, working the odd jobs to pay the bills while taking classes and trying to land a role.

Boyd, Hayes, Nance to be Honored at Johnson Banquet: Three Wildcat student-athletes, football quarterback Shane Boyd, men’s basketball forward Chuck Hayes, and softball outfielder Jessica Nance, will be honored Friday night with “Torch Bearer” awards at the annual Lyman T. Johnson UK Alumni Banquet at the Embassy Suites Hotel in Lexington.
Boyd, Hayes, and Nance are among several UK students who are being recognized for their achievements in academics, campus activities, and leadership.
Kestner added two additional scores on tosses from QB Rick Norton (60 and 23 yards) as the Wildcats rallied from 14-13 and 21-20 deficits late in the second half for the upset.
