He is a legendary Jaffa warrior, Teal'c's former teacher and closest friend, and also a guardian to his son, Rya'c. Bra'tac's quest is to rid the galaxy of the Goa'uld, whose veil of divinity he has penetrated and who he hates for enslaving the Jaffa. When Teal'c was serving in Apophis' army, Bra'tac was the System Lord's First Prime. Bra'tac taught Teal'c to question the Goa'uld. He is a respected leader among the growing number of free Jaffa. In Stargate SG-1, Bra'tac is one of the former leaders of the Jaffa Resistance, the rebellion aimed at overthrowing the Goa'uld and establishing the freedom of all Jaffa. Now that freedom has been realised for the Jaffa, Bra'tac holds a position of honor and is still an important Tau'ri liaison. He also took over the training of Teal'c's son Rya'c. He is a leader of the Progressive faction on the High Council and advocates Teal'c's positions in High Council sessions on the frequent occasions that Teal'c is away. Later in that year Bra'tac meets Kytano, a charismatic Jaffa leader and together with Teal'c joins forces with him. However it turns out that Kytano is in fact the Goa'uld Imhotep. At the beginning of this year he visits SGC to tell Teal'c that Drey'auc is dying and they both visit the camp where Drey'auc however is already dead. When Earth is attacked by Anubis with an Ancient weapon, he finds out where it is and, together with Teal'c and Rya'c, goes on a mission to destroy it.
