Bradford is a town located in Merrimack County, New Hampshire. As of the 2000 census, the town had a total population of 1,454.

Geography

According to the United States Census Bureau, the town has a total area of 93.3 km² (36.0 mi²). 91.5 km² (35.3 mi²) of it is land and 1.8 km² (0.7 mi²) of it is water. The total area is 1.94% water.

Demographics

As of the census² of 2000, there are 1,454 people, 559 households, and 403 families residing in the town. The population density is 15.9/km² (41.2/mi²). There are 762 housing units at an average density of 8.3/km² (21.6/mi²). The racial makeup of the town is 97.25% White, 0.28% African American, 0.34% Native American, 0.14% Asian, 0.00% Pacific Islander, 0.28% from other races, and 1.72% from two or more races. 1.10% of the population are Hispanic or Latino of any race.

There are 559 households out of which 34.3% have children under the age of 18 living with them, 57.6% are married couples living together, 11.3% have a female householder with no husband present, and 27.9% are non-families. 20.2% of all households are made up of individuals and 7.7% have someone living alone who is 65 years of age or older.
