Bradford is a city in the northern English county of Yorkshire, and the major settlement in the City of Bradford Metropolitan District of West Yorkshire.
Bradford became a municipal borough in 1847, and received its charter as a city in 1897.
Bradford's former importance as a centre of international trade led to the creation of the Bradford Circle for Foreign Languages [7], which still survives today and is possibly unique among similar clubs in that it owns its own premises.
