Bradgate is a town located in Humboldt County, Iowa. As of the 2000 census, the town had a total population of 101. In 2004 the town was almost completely destroyed by a tornado.

Geography

Bradgate is located at 42°48'12" North, 94°25'13" West (42.803434, _94.420405)¹.

According to the United States Census Bureau, the town has a total area of 0.9 km² (0.3 mi²). 0.9 km² (0.3 mi²) of it is land and none of it is covered by water.

Demographics

As of the census² of 2000, there are 101 people, 48 households, and 30 families residing in the town. The population density is 111.4/km² (291.1/mi²). There are 54 housing units at an average density of 59.6/km² (155.6/mi²). The racial makeup of the city is 100.00% White, 0.00% African American, 0.00% Native American, 0.00% Asian, 0.00% Pacific Islander, 0.00% from other races, and 0.00% from two or more races. 0.00% of the population are Hispanic or Latino of any race.

There are 48 households out of which 18.8% have children under the age of 18 living with them, 56.3% are married couples living together, 6.3% have a female householder with no husband present, and 37.5% are non-families. 31.3% of all households are made up of individuals and 6.3% have someone living alone who is 65 years of age or older. The average household size is 2.10 and the average family size is 2.63.

In the town the population is spread out with 15.8% under the age of 18, 8.9% from 18 to 24, 22.8% from 25 to 44, 33.7% from 45 to 64, and 18.8% who are 65 years of age or older. The median age is 46 years. For every 100 females there are 114.9 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there are 117.9 males.

The median income for a household in the town is $30,000, and the median income for a family is $44,375. Males have a median income of $27,500 versus $15,625 for females.
