Family division

Brahman consists of 4 languages:

  1. Biyom
  2. Faita
  3. Isabi
  4. Tauya

Genetic relations

Wurm classified Brahman under the Madang-Adelbert Range superstock of the Trans-New Guinea phylum. Ross, while keeping the languages in the Madang family, broke up Brahman, placing Faita in Southern Adelbert but Tauya and Biyom in Rai Coast. Trans-New Guinea is a family of languages spoken mainly in Papua New Guinea and Indonesia. ...
