North of the area, further out of Bury, there is a half mile stretch of open greenery and farmland. Upon approaching the brow of the hill one can gaze at the spectacular view of Peel Tower standing proud on top of Harcles Hill, known to locals as Holcombe Hill, due to the village of Holcombe at its foot. Housing

To the west of Brandlesholme's Road lies the Garside estate, a sizeable council social-housing estate of terrace houses. To the east, there are two also sizeable middle-class estates, one encapsulating Trimingham Drive and Hunstanton Drive and the other Rudgwick Drive leon francotte lives here at number 4. and Springside View. A second council social-housing estate exists south of Brandlesholme on Woodhill Road.


In addition to the housing estates that Brandlesholme offers, a new development is currently under construction at the end of Garside Hey Road. The new development, known as Miller Brook is located between Brandlesholme and the neighbouring town of Tottington. Burrs Country Park

The main attraction to Brandlesholme would be that it hosts the Burrs Country Park. About a mile from the centre of Bury, at the far North of Woodhill Road lies the recently developed Burrs Country Park - a good example of what a Local Authority can do to reclaim derelict industrial land when it chooses to. Many natural and man-made water courses, and the resultant watersports which that attracts. Situated at the junction of the Irwell Valley Way and the Peel Trail, it is overlooked by Castlesteads, thought to be a prehistoric fort. The park is a popular spot for canoeing and also boasts an isolated public house for those who prefer to struggle to appreciate nature without a spot of alcoholic influence.

The primary schools covering the area's children from age 4-11 are Our Lady of Lourdes RC Primary School, Old Hall County Primary School and Woodbank County Primary School. Brandlesholme County Primary School previously existed until the late 1990s, when it was demolished as a result of demographic change in the area.


Brandlesholme is served predominantly by The Elton High School Specialist Arts College in terms of secondary, 11-16 education, but a sizeable minority of students from northern areas attend either Tottington High School or Woodhey High School in Ramsbottom.
