Brandon Barnes is an American musician and producer from Denver, Colorado. He is best known as the drummer for the hardcore punk band Rise Against. Brandon began studying music in college and quickly discovered this was what he wanted to do with his life. He played in his school's jazz band and also took private lessons. Through the years, he developed his own unique drumming style, compiled by the influence of his drumming heroes, including Neil Peart, Terry Bozzio, and Dave Lombardo. Based on a true story, this drama was adapted from the life of Brandon Teena, born Teena Brandon, a woman who chose to live her life as a man and suffered tragic consequences as a result.
