- Jacobs has garnered several nicknames such as "The Beast", "The Monster", "The Bulldozer", "The Semi", "J-Truck", "J-Train", "Mr. Hightower", "The Juggernaut" and is often referred to as the "Biggest Running Back in Captivity". Some analysts have referred to him as "Drago" in reference to Ivan Drago from Rocky IV.
- On Sunday, November 12th, 2006 Jacobs was given a 15-yard taunting penalty for celebrating a TD run by putting the ball under his shirt to resemble pregnancy. The celebration was paying homage to his wife, who was pregnant at the time.
