Breezy Point is a city located in Crow Wing County, Minnesota. As of the 2000 census, the city had a total population of 979. The city of Breezy Point is best known for being the home to a resort of the same name.

Geography

According to the United States Census Bureau, the city has a total area of 42.7 km² (16.5 mi²). 34.0 km² (13.1 mi²) of it is land and 8.8 km² (3.4 mi²) of it is water. The total area is 20.50% water.

Demographics

As of the census² of 2000, there are 979 people, 413 households, and 306 families residing in the city. The population density is 28.8/km² (74.7/mi²). There are 899 housing units at an average density of 26.5/km² (68.6/mi²). The racial makeup of the city is 98.16% White, 0.20% African American, 0.31% Native American, 0.10% Asian, 0.00% Pacific Islander, 0.20% from other races, and 1.02% from two or more races. 0.31% of the population are Hispanic or Latino of any race.

There are 413 households out of which 28.1% have children under the age of 18 living with them, 66.3% are married couples living together, 4.8% have a female householder with no husband present, and 25.7% are non-families. 19.9% of all households are made up of individuals and 5.8% have someone living alone who is 65 years of age or older. The average household size is 2.37 and the average family size is 2.69.
