Originally, Urie was not the band's lead singer. Rather, the position had belonged to current guitarist and lyricist, Ryan Ross. However, when the band heard him sing backup during a rehearsal, they were impressed with his vocal abilities and unanimously decided to make him the singer.[5] Urie reportedly put so much time into his band during his senior year of high school that he almost did not graduate.[6] George Ryan Ross III (b. ...
After graduation, Urie's parents strongly encouraged him to attend college, but against their wishes he chose to pursue his interests in music and helped get Panic! at the Disco off the ground. Urie was later asked to leave his home by his disapproving parents upon deciding to pursue Panic! At The Disco, and was forced to rent a one room apartment with only his job at a local Smoothie Hut to support him, as well as help pay for the rent of the band's practice space.[7] After his father saw him at their first major show in Las Vegas, Nevada, Urie's parents started supporting their son.[6] In later months, upon seeing his success, his parents are now very supportive of him and his career.
Career Urie was named one of Spin.com's Hottest Stars Under 25 during week of June 16, 2006.[8] Soon after, Urie sang backup vocals on Fall Out Boy's "7 Minutes In Heaven (Atavan Halen)" single. Fall Out Boy later recruited him again, this time to act, in their A Little Less Sixteen Candles, a Little More 'Touch Me' video, where he played a vampire and the apprentice of The Dandies leader played by William Beckett. Let's see how well you guys do with my left side," and continued right where they left off in the song. At the 2006 MTV Video Music Awards, a crasher who identified his name as "Six" came on stage, took Urie's mic, and proceded to complain about MTV.[11] "Six" was then lead off stage by security, to which Urie responded, "He stole our thunder!".[12] In the 2006 Live at the Astoria video, Urie states that "Time To Dance" was Panic's first song written as a band.
Personal Life Brendon Urie is always rumored to have a girlfriend. At this moment he does not, the girl he brought to the VMA's was his best friend from high school Brittany. That is not his girlfriend. He did have a relationship with Audrey Kitching for a brief period of time but that was ended a while ago. Before then he had never really had a girlfriend because the people at his school were not particularly fond of him.
