It was created in the 1970s, and is undergoing major development. The secondary school for Bretton is Bretton Woods Community School. It's centre was orginally home to a Sainsbury's, Iceland and Boots, although it is currently being developed into a major shopping centre soon to contain brand shops such as Next and Gap.
