Brewton Middle School competed in the 2005 Regional Science Olympiad at Auburn University in Auburn, Alabama. The school took three teams, Team A, Team B, and Team C to this Regional Tournament. All three teams qualified to go to the Alabama Statewide Science Olympiad at Huntingdon College in Montgomery, Alabama. At the state tournament, Team A took 2nd place overall, only behind Auburn Junior High School. This qualified Brewton Middle School Team A to go to the National Science Olympiad in Champaign, Illinois. At this National Tournament, Brewton Middle School placed 35th overall.
