Downey has represented businesses and business owners, as well as various government entities, in a variety of commercial disputes, including allegations of contract breaches, business torts, violations of federal and state securities laws, and violations of state consumer protection laws.
Downey has represented companies in cases before the Commonwealth Court of Pennsylvania challenging actions by the Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection (DEP), including one recent case in which he and his colleagues were able to obtain a settlement valued in excess of several million dollars of a claim against DEP.
Downey also is active in pro bono matters, representing indigent clients in a variety of cases, including immigration claims and claims involving victims of child abuse.
