Fr. Linnane was born in Massachussetts in 1955. He entered the Society of Jesus in 1977 and was ordained as a Roman Catholic priest on June 14, 1986. Fr. Linnane's educational background includes numerous degrees, including a bachelor's degree from Boston College, master's degrees from Georgetown University, the Jesuit School of Theology at Berkeley, and two degrees from the Yale Department of Religious Studies. He also holds a Ph.D. from the Yale Department of Religious Studies and a Licentiate of Sacred Theology from the Jesuit School of Theology at Berkeley.
