Brian Head is a town located in Iron County, Utah. As of the 2000 census, the town had a total population of 118, a miniscule increase over the 1990 figure of 109. Brian Head is also the location of the Brian Head Ski Resort.


Geography

Brian Head is located at 37°41'56" North, 112°50'41" West (37.698842, _112.844679)1.


According to the United States Census Bureau, the town has a total area of 8.0 km˛ (3.1 mi˛). 8.0 km˛ (3.1 mi˛) of it is land and none of the area is covered with water.


Demographics

As of the census2 of 2000, there are 118 people, 55 households, and 33 families residing in the town. The population density is 14.7/km˛ (38.1/mi˛). There are 912 housing units at an average density of 113.6/km˛ (294.1/mi˛). The racial makeup of the town is 99.15% White, 0.85% African American, 0.00% Native American, 0.00% Asian, 0.00% Pacific Islander, 0.00% from other races, and 0.00% from two or more races. 0.85% of the population are Hispanic or Latino of any race.


There are 55 households out of which 18.2% have children under the age of 18 living with them, 49.1% are married couples living together, 1.8% have a female householder with no husband present, and 40.0% are non-families. 38.2% of all households are made up of individuals and 0.0% have someone living alone who is 65 years of age or older. The average household size is 2.15 and the average family size is 2.85.


In the town the population is spread out with 22.0% under the age of 18, 4.2% from 18 to 24, 27.1% from 25 to 44, 34.7% from 45 to 64, and 11.9% who are 65 years of age or older. The median age is 43 years. For every 100 females there are 131.4 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there are 130.0 males.


The median income for a household in the town is $44,063, and the median income for a family is $44,375. Males have a median income of $43,750 versus $28,750 for females. The per capita income for the town is $32,647. 5.4% of the population and 8.8% of families are below the poverty line. Out of the total population, 0.0% of those under the age of 18 and 0.0% of those 65 and older are living below the poverty line.
