Brian Hibbard (born November 26, 1946) is a Welsh actor and singer, best remembered as the lead vocalist in the original Flying Pickets.


Following the group's success in the early 1980s, Hibbard went on to appear regularly in Coronation Street as garage mechanic Doug Murray. He has appeared on television, including the Welsh language series, Pam Fi, Duw?, and in films such as Twin Town and Rancid Aluminium.

In 2000, Hibbard moved to Greensboro, North Carolina from Santa Fe, New Mexico and began working as an apprentice to a nationally recognized sculptor.
William Brian Hibbard’s work can be seen at one of his numerous solo exhibitions or at his studio at Lyndon Street Artworks in downtown Greensboro.

Hibbard first came to national prominence as part of the Flying Pickets pop group during the eighties.
The group's popularity faded, and an attempt to Hibbard and another member, 'Red Stripe', to revive their pop careers as 'Brian and Stripe' in 1987, sadly failed.
However, Hibbard was soon to enjoy great success as an actor in shows such as Making Out (as Chunky, petty criminal and henpecked boyfriend of Margi Clark) and The Bill (as a timid villain-turned-nark for DS Greig).
