 | Brian Hoskins: The first events we saw that were really interesting was a very strong fluctuation on an intraseasonal time scale of the convection in the tropics. |
 | Brian Hoskins: Normally what happens is, when theres a strong Indian Monsoon we get the air rising over India with all this convection going on, all this rainfall, the air rises in a huge tower over India and then the air has to go down somewhere. |
 | Brian Hoskins: Yes, and around the world one sees more of those things occurring and so the suggestion becomes stronger that this is something that must be taken seriously. |
