White was born near Boston, Massachusetts, the son of Estelle, a financial advisor, and Jo Jo White, a basketball player for the Boston Celtics and sports executive.[1] He is the oldest and only male of five siblings. White, a graduate of Dartmouth College at Dartmouth, was a member of the Beta Theta Pi fraternity. He resides in Los Angeles, California. White has played in both the NFL and the NLL (lacrosse)and horseback riding, earned his certifications as a licensed stock broker (series 7, 63 and 65) and co-founded the professional dance company/community youth outreach organization Phunk Phenomenon Urban Dance Theater. He is also the President of Celebrity Relations for Warm2Kids (We're All Role Models), an online membership community dedicated to inspiring teens and young adults to make positive life decisions and to ensure that no young person or family suffers in silence. White began acting on the small screen, displaying a strong presence in a number of television series such as Moesha The Parkers, MTV's Spyder Games, UPN's comedy Second Time Around, most notably, as Detective Tavon Garris on the award-winning FX crime drama, The Shield. White moved to film roles. Some of his more notable ones were in Tom Bezucha's The Family Stone, opposite an all-star cast, Rian Johnson's Independent Spirit Award-nominated film, Brick and DOA: Dead or Alive, the movie adaptation of the best-selling video game series, directed by Corey Yuen (The Transporter).
