Brian Michael Jenkins is one of the world’s foremost authorities on terrorism and is considered by many to be the father of terrorism research in the United States. During his nearly four decades of analysis, Jenkins has advised governments, private corporations, the Catholic Church, the Church of England, and many other international organizations on terrorist threats. Terrorism refers to a strategy of using violence, social threats, or coordinated attacks, in order to generate fear, cause disruption, and ultimately, bring about compliance with specified political, religious, or ideological demands. ...


Jenkins is the author of many books, including Unconquerable Nation (available Fall 2006), which explores the most pressing questions about terrorism.


He currently serves as Senior Advisor to the President of the RAND Corporation. He has served as an advisor to the U.S. Department of State, the Department of Defense, the Department of Energy, the Nuclear Regulatory Commission, and other government agencies.
