Brian Paulson is a musician and record producer from Minnesota. He grew up in Bemidji, Minnesota, but moved about two-hundred miles south to Minneapolis when he graduated from high school and started playing in a band called Man Sized Action, the first band on Bob Mould's Reflex Records label. He made many friends in the Chicago-Minneapolis musical pipleline, touring with reputable producer/recording engineer Steve Albini. Through Albini, Paulson met David Grubbs and eventually worked with him on an album for his band, Bastro. Paulson's carrer as a record producer didn't take off until he recorded Slint's now-legendary final album, Spiderland. Like much of Slint, little is known about the record.
