Brian Douglas Shouse (Born September 26, 1968 in Effingham, Illinois is a left-handed pitcher in Major League Baseball for the Milwaukee Brewers. He pitches with a sidearm delivery, which he adapted into his pitching windup in 2001, replacing his traditional over the top delivery. Shouse made his Major League debut for the Pittsburgh Pirates in 1993. After playing only 6 games in 1993, Shouse would not pitch another inning in the Major League until he went to the Boston Red Sox in 1998. Yet again, Shouse was released and would not play ball again until 2002 with the Kansas City Royals. Shouse finally got his break with the Texas Rangers, where he played a little more than 3 seasons. In that time, he was used as an effective reliever, earning 34 holds in 3+ years. As he began his fourth year with the Rangers, Shouse was traded in May to the Brewers for minor league prospect Enrique Cruz. This article or section does not cite its references or sources. ...
