The Brick stitch is a series of Gobelin stitches that are worked in a staggered manner. They can be worked over 2 or 4 canvas threads. The result is a brick-like pattern, hence the name. This stitch can be worked horizontally or vertically. It can be used to produce the effects of bricks in a design or as a background. The larger (over 4 canvas threads) variation of this stitch produces more pattern and the texture. Canvas is an extremely heavy-duty fabric used for making sails, tents, marquees, and other functions where sturdiness is required. ...
