Brigham City is about a small town in rural Utah, north of Salt Lake City. The sherriff is also a bishop and a widower. The town is unique in that it has never had a murder reported. It is an idyllic little town, a paradise. When a woman from out of town is found murdered a few miles outside of town, the sherriff calls in the FBI. He does this both because he has no experience in murder investigations and because he wants to keep the murder's influence out of his town. But it is already too late. A few more murders soon occur.
