Class930, no. 930004 at London Victoria on 18th March 2003, seen painted in Railtrack's blue and lime green livery.
The BritishRailClass930 was reserved for former Southern Region electrical multiple units and diesel-electric multiple units converted for departmental use.
When TOPS class numbers were applied, these units mostly retained their existing numbers as the last three digits of their new TOPS class number.
Upon privatisation of Britain's railways, the Class121 fleet was only operated by one passenger company, namely Silverlink, with several more units in departmental duties with Railtrack.
The units replaced the previous fleet of Class108 and Class115 units, and were supplemented with a fleet of Class117 units cascaded from Thames Valley services.
