History

The school was founded by its first headmistress, Mary J. Cosyn, in 1954 and, under her ownership and management, was known as The English School of Paris until her retirement in 1980. The British School of Paris (BSP) is a British school in the Ile-de-France, France. ...


In 1981, with the encouragement of the British Embassy, it was acquired by the non-profit making Association for English Education in Paris and renamed The "British School of Paris".


The BSP celebrated its 50th anniversary as a school in 2004.


Campuses

The BSP comprises three separate campuses; two junior schools and one senior school.


Junior Schools

The original Junior school is located in Bougival. The second Junior school is located in Croissy-sur-Seine. Bougival is a city of 8500 in the country of France, region of Ile de France, departement of Yvelines. ... Croissy-sur-Seine is a small suburban town on the western outskirts of Paris. ...


The Junior schools both run from primary to year six. Both school campuses are located on spacious terrain. Senior School


The Senior school is located in Croissy-sur-Seine and the current head master is Mr. Richard J. Woodall, assisted by two deputy heads, two heads of Key Stage, and the Head of Sixth Form Croissy-sur-Seine is a small suburban town on the western outskirts of Paris. ...


The senior school runs from years 7 to 13, and provides GCSEs throughout years 10 and 11. It also provides A-levels for Sixth Formers but does not offer a wide variety of extra-curricular activities. However, recently roundtable discussions have occurred on the topic of broadening the curriculum with potentially more vocational subjects offered.

The BSP is an overseas member of the Head Masters' Conference (HMC), the Incorporated Association of Preparatory Schools (IAPS), the European Council of International Schools (ECIS), the Council of British International Schools in the European Community(COBISEC) and the National Association of Independent Schools (NAIS).
