The Broad Street station dominated the center of the city - running right up to City Hall - and had a "stub" design whereby trains would both enter and exit the station through what is now the west John F Kennedy Blvd. The access tracks - mounted on a "chinese wall" - bisected the city from North to South from City Hall to the Schuylkill River.
