Brockworth Enterprise School is a co-educational, fully comprehensive Community School and the first Business and Enterprise Specialist School in Gloucestershire. It is an 11-18 school for 900 students with a Sixth Form of 100 students. There are over 50 teaching staff. The school will eventually be over 1000. About the School

The school was founded in 1967 as the first purpose-built comprehensive school in Gloucestershire. It has recently undergone major refurbishment of the main school block and sports centre and has a brand new maths block. The situation of the school on Mill Lane is on the edge of open countryside overlooked by the Cotswold Hills. The modern buildings, which include a sports centre, dance studio and swimming pool, occupy an extremely attractive site with extensive playing fields. Facilities

The facilities of the school have been provided to cater for this full age and ability range and include:


- Central Learning Resource Centre with over 300 networked PCs across the school.


- Post 16 Centre with social and study areas for the students. This has been substantially improved as part of the Business and Enterprise plans.


- Drama/Music Hall with seating for 200.


- Sports Centre with indoor heated swimming pool, sports hall, gym, dance studio, floodlit redgra pitch, tennis courts and extensive playing fields.


- All department areas are housed in purpose built specialist accommodation. Nearly all teachers have "their own" teaching room.


Curriculum

The curriculum of the school is broad, balanced and relevant to the changing needs of the individual regardless of age, ability or sex. At Key Stage 3 students follow a competence curriculum to build on the Y6 experience as well as lessons in Mathematics, English, Science, French (and German in Y8), Design Technology, Music, Physical Education and ICT. The school also has a highly skilled and sympathetic Special Needs Department assists in the programme of children who have learning difficulties.
