The original cast consisted of Eden Espinosa as the leading role (Brooklyn), Kevin Anderson as her father (Taylor Collins), Cleavant Derricks as the "Streetsinger", Karen Olivo as Brooklyn's mother (Faith), and Ramona Keller as the story's antagonist (Paradice).
