Brooks Brown is a 1999 Columbine graduate and was a friend of Eric Harris and Dylan Klebold, the perpetrators of the Columbine High School massacre. On the day of the shooting, he was smoking outside the school when Eric allegedly drove up and said to him "Brooks, I like you now. Get out of here. He had been good friends with Dylan since elementary school, but only met Eric in middle school. Him and Eric suffered a falling out when Eric threw a snowball at his windshield and chipped it. When Brooks complained to Harris' parents, Eric posted death threats against him on his website (The address of the site was supplied to Brooks ironically by Dylan) Brooks parents reported this to police, and the fact Eric was making bombs, yet it was never followed up. In their senior year, however, Eric and Brooks reconciled their friendship.


Brooks was seen as a suspect due to being friends with the pereptrators, and reportedly lost a lot of friends after the incident. They told him and other friends of theirs not to come back to the school.


Brooks has since written a book along with Rob Merritt entitled No Easy Answers: The Truth Behind Death At Columbine (ISBN: 1590560310) about signs that were missed prior to the shooting and the bullying atmosphere that was rampant at Columbine High School. He also assisted Michael Moore with some of the filming in Littleton for Moore's documentary Bowling for Columbine Address 6201 S.
