Brooks Crawford is an American football punter currently entering Randolph Macon College in the fall of 2007. He attended Smithfield High School in Smithfield, VA where he was a 3 year letterman in Football and 4 year letterman in Soccer. During the 2005 football season, Crawford was given the Bay Rivers District 2nd Team All District honors. As a senior in 2006, Crawford was again selected 2nd team, but was also named the Daily Press Local All Star, as well as the Associated Press All State Punter for Virginia. In 2006, he led the state of Virginia, and possibly the nation with a 45.6 Yard Per Punt average, placing 20 out of 32 inside the opposition 20. His soccer career was less noteworthy, as the Smithfield Packers of SHS were perennial basement dwellers. In his first 3 years, the team only won 5 games. Crawford started in goal all four years, and suffered losses as big as 11-0 and 12-1. In 2007, as a Senior Captain, led the Packers to the first playoff appearance in 20 years, but lost in the first round to rival Poquoson High School 1-0. Crawford, despite being arguably one of the top keepers in the area, did not receive post season honors.
