Brow antlered deer are a rare and endangered species of deer. Its scientific name is Cervus eldi eldi and is locally known as Sangai in Manipuri. Other names include Eld’s deer, Thamin deer and Dancing deer. It is one of the three species of Elds deer in the world confined to Southeast Asia.
More gregarious and migratory (mostly elevational movements) than white-tailed deer; feed early and late in the day; run with tail down in bounding leaps, keeping all feet together.
In prairie use Breaks, bad- lands and brushy draws.
In mtn-foothills mule deer widely dist. in sum.-in forest & subalpine.
