Brow antlered deer are a rare and endangered species of deer. Its scientific name is Cervus eldi eldi and is locally known as Sangai in Manipuri. Other names include Eld’s deer, Thamin deer and Dancing deer. It is one of the three species of Elds deer in the world confined to Southeast Asia.


It is found in its last existing natural habitat at the Kaibul Lamjao National Park in Loktak Lake in Manipur.
