The project came into being when Rexx Arkana's father was diagnosed with stage four terminal cancer. After his father's passing (November 30th, 1999,) he shared a hand-written poem to his father with Ronan and Joakim. The duo wished to turn the verses into a formal song with all proceeds going directly to cancer research in honor of Arkana's father. The Bruderschaft project lay on the back burner for a few years until the spring of 2002, when most of the members' schedules had cleared. Bruderschaft: The new Pigface? (1553 words)
Bruderschaft continues to work on the follow up to 2003's #1 single, "Forever." State of the Union's Johann Sebastian and Icon of Coil's Sebastian Komor have joined to finish composition on "Return," due out in late spring/early summer.
Bruderschaft are very unlike pigface because everyone involved is from the EBM/Futurepop scene and even the name indicates that kind of feel.
Bruderschaft aren't my cup of tea but I respect that what they're doing is for charity and if I were ever asked to be on a charity record I'd go for it unless it was something like the "gas all muslims" charity that will probably turn up in middle america at some point.
