Bruno Santos is considered one of the emerging model sensations that hail from Brazil in the recent years. Bruno grew up with three brothers and one sister, and held many jobs since the age 12, including construction and farmwork. He was an engineering student before he became a model, and taught math as a side job during his schooling.

Bruno had not considered modeling as a career, but in 2000, his girlfriend, who was modeling at the time, introduced him to her agency. The agency agreed to pay for his expenses to try out in Europe,^{[citation needed]} but Bruno was working full-time and didn't take the offer seriously. But the agency and his friends eventually changed Bruno's mind about modeling.

Bruno traveled to Paris, where he met his agent Ike Gamez. It was Ike Gamez who introduced Bruno into mainstream high-fashion, which led to the campaigns for Versace shot by Steven Klein and Armani by Peter Lindburgh.

He considers traveling around the world and experiencing different cultures as a positive point of modeling, especially when he met his secret crush Christina Aguilera at a Versace shoot. But considers traveling away from home and family as a downside. In his home country Brazil, Bruno owns a restaurant where his family works. He enjoys reading poetry in his spare time. As an established figure in modeling business, Bruno is known for his professionalism and his positive attitude. He even adds some of his own theatrical touch during photo shoots at times.
