Bryant is a town located in Jay County, Indiana. As of the 2000 census, the town had a total population of 272.

Geography

Bryant is located at 40°32'3" North, 84°57'51" West (40.534247, -84.964198)¹.

According to the United States Census Bureau, the town has a total area of 0.8 km² (0.3 mi²). 0.8 km² (0.3 mi²) of it is land and none of it is covered by water.

Demographics

As of the census² of 2000, there are 272 people, 95 households, and 74 families residing in the town. The population density is 350.1/km² (897.9/mi²). There are 109 housing units at an average density of 140.3/km² (359.8/mi²). The racial makeup of the town is 97.79% White, 0.00% African American, 0.00% Native American, 0.37% Asian, 0.00% Pacific Islander, 0.37% from other races, and 1.47% from two or more races. 1.10% of the population are Hispanic or Latino of any race.

There are 95 households out of which 35.8% have children under the age of 18 living with them, 64.2% are married couples living together, 6.3% have a female householder with no husband present, and 22.1% are non-families. 18.9% of all households are made up of individuals and 7.4% have someone living alone who is 65 years of age or older. The average household size is 2.86 and the average family size is 3.27.

In the town the population is spread out with 30.9% under the age of 18, 7.7% from 18 to 24, 32.7% from 25 to 44, 18.8% from 45 to 64, and 9.9% who are 65 years of age or older. The median age is 32 years. For every 100 females there are 121.1 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there are 106.6 males.
