Harry Ralston "Bud" Black was an American baseball player, pitching for the Seattle Mariners, San Francisco Giants, Cleveland Indians, Toronto Blue Jays, and Kansas City Royals. He is the current manager of the San Diego Padres. Black has been considered ready to take on a Manager position in the major leagues but has resisted approaches due to family considerations. In October of 2006, Brian Sabean, General Manager of the San Francisco Giants, interviewed Black for the Giants' vacant managerial position.
