Peter Clarke, (born August 21, 1957), better known as Budgie, is an English drummer. He began his career with the New Wavers Big in Japan and also the Spitfire Boys before briefly playing with The Slits. Budgie joined Siouxsie & the Banshees, the band with whom he would gain most notoriety, in 1979. Initially he was intended to only be a temporary replacement for Kenny Morris, who had left the band two days into a tour, however he remained with the group until they eventually split up. He is also, currently, a member of The Creatures, along with Siouxsie Sioux. Siouxsie and the Banshees was een Britse gothic rock band met als vaste bandleden: zangeres Siouxsie Sioux (echte naam Susan Janet Ballion), bassist Steven Severin en drummer Budgie.
In 1996 is de band uit elkaar gegaan, waarna Sioux en Budgie zich meer zijn gaan richten op The Creatures en Steven Severin meer op kunst en filmmuziek.
In de periode vóór 1977 testte de band de drummer Dixon, bovendien speelde PT Fenton korte tijd gitaar (hij werd tijdens een optreden stante pede ontslagen).

BUDGIE in 1988 included former MAGNUM and UFO drummer Jim Simpson but Shelley finally laid the band to rest the same year when he formed THE SUPERCLERKES.
The BUDGIE legacy re-emerged in 1993 when ex drummer Ray Phillips was found to be touring the British clubs performing the band's standards under the band name SIX TON BUDGIE.
BUDGIE, consisting of Shelley, Thomas and Steve Williams, returned to their now traditional San Antonio festival in 2000 on a bill with DIO and LEGS DIAMOND.
