"This studio will be one of our centers of creative excellence and it gives us the ability to fully capitalize on our properties and expand our market share on Nintendo platforms," said Graham Hopper of Buena Vista Games. "Scott Novis brings the perfect mix of team building and relevant business experience to the position of studio head for Fall Line Studio. " Buena Vista Games has historically been a huge supporter of Nintendo platforms and is currently the number three publisher of Game Boy Advance titles in North America. Fall Line marks the fourth development studio that Buena Vista has purchased in the last couple of years - part of the company's ongoing plan to cut back on outsourced game development and instead make the software on its own. In addition to Fall Line, the corporation owns Avalanche Software, Propaganda Games, and Climax Racing. Disney has a wide array of brands to draw upon, from Mickey Mouse to its more recent hits from the Pixar family, such as The Incredibles and Cars. However, the company's plans to internally develop Pixar-branded video games may have to wait as publishing giant THQ owns the game rights to the next four Pixar movies. "It seems like with our brand, the Nintendo platform is a really good place to put our development effort," said Fall Line head Scott Novis. Disney's Chicken Little is the first game from Disney to hit Nintendo's new console. It is developed by Avalanche Software and is scheduled for release in December.
