Santiago del Teide (Spanish good view of the north (of the island) ) is a municipality in the western part of the island of Tenerife, one of the Canary Islands, and part of the province of Santa Cruz de Tenerife. Buenavista del Norte is the westernmost municipality in the island of Tenerife and is also the westernmost point. It is located about 60 km SW of the island's capital, NW of Los Cristianos and Las Américas of Arona and about 50 km NW of Reina Sofia Airport. The population is 5,453 (ISTAC, 2003), its density is 80.88/km² and the area is 67.42 km²/6,742 ha. The elevation is 925 m. Santaiago del Teide is linked north of the TF1 superhighway and northwest of the TF38 and west of the TF2 superhighway. Farmlands are in the valley areas and within the Atlantic, the hills are around the area and the mountains to the south and southeast.


Its economy are business, tourism and agriculture until the 1990s, agriculture was the dominant industry in Buenaivsta del Norte and rural formed the majority of the population.


Buenavista del Norte has schools, lyceum, a few gymnasia, banks, churches, a post office, beaches, a port and a few squares plazas. Plaza is a Spanish word related to field which describes an open urban public space, such as a city square. ...

It traverses eight (8) municipalities: Alegria, Tubod, Mainit and Sison in the Province of Surigao del Norte and Tubay, Santiago, Jabonga and Kitchara in Agusan del Norte.
Among the four (4) provinces, Agusan del Sur registered the largest population at 559,294, and Surigao del Norte the smallest at 481,416.
