a track leading to Buffalo Central Station from the main railway Buffalo Central Station in Buffalo, New York, USA was a key railroad station from the 1920s to the 1970s. It was built by the New York Central Railroad from 1927-1929 by Fellheimer & Wagner, also serving trains of the Pennsylvania Railroad and Toronto, Hamilton and Buffalo Railway. The 20 storey Art Deco station was later served by Amtrak, but it was closed and abandoned in 1979 and much of the building is in ruin and flooded. The station replaced the older Exchange Street Station, which is now once again used by Amtrak trains north from Buffalo, while trains going south only stop at Depew east of Buffalo.
