Burma Area Army was a Japanese army organized 18 March 1943 to unify the command of the 15th and 28th Armies in Burma. Its first commander was Masakazu Kawabe (18 March 1943 - 30 August 1944) followed by General Hyotaro Kimura (30 August 1944 - 12 September 1945).
