Burner was briefly seen during the first X-Men animated series from the 1990's. In the two-part episode called "the Sanctuary", Burner, much like much other mutants, accepted Magneto's offer to live wiht him in outer space on Magneto's Asteroid M. However as the asteroid was defeated, Burner once again returned to Earth. During the episode, it was also revealed that he was an old friend from Gambit, though what that friendship included has never been revealed.
