Hendrick Motorsports team owner Rick Hendrick fired back Saturday at allegations made in a lawsuit filed earlier this week in a North Carolina court by Dianne Dorton, widow of former Hendrick engine department head Randy Dorton.
Dorton claimed in her suit that John Hendrick forced the pilots to fly in unsafe conditions and alleged she received no help from the team after the crash.
Hendrick said he paid Dianne Dorton her late husband’s entire 2004 bonus and six months of his 2005 salary, plus gave her a BMW automobile with paid insurance, as well as made round-the-clock help available to her.
